Tour of Christianshavn
Description
Participating in this extraordinary 90-minute tour you will get to know the island of Christianshavn, built-in 1618 by the most transcendental Scandinavian king, Christian IV, as part of the fortification plan of the city of Copenhagen. By sheltering the main military bases of Copenhagen, it became the main port of this city.
Today it is known as "Little Amsterdam" and is one of the most charming neighborhoods. Its landscape and impressive architectural monuments, such as its churches and its original cobbled streets, are one more reason to enter this beautiful Christiania free neighborhood. In 1971 it was invaded by hippies, making it their own and turning it into a social experiment, far from capitalism. In this quiet alternative island, you will not run into any cars. It is undoubtedly one of the favorite places of many renowned artists/musicians.
This fabulous tour ends at the door of this neighborhood, so you have the opportunity to meet and experience it on your own. It will undoubtedly be one of your most entertaining experiences and of course, highly recommended.
Free guided tour based on tips.
