Description

This Bohemian district of Kraków is the center of Jewish culture in Poland. Christians and Jews lived there for more than 500 years. It was in World War II that it suffered the macabre atrocities of Nazism. The Kazimierz district is a reference to the adversity experienced by the Jewish culture, as well as being the home of many prominent Jewish figures. Today, Kazimierz represents the cultural life core of Kraków.

Discover and visit our tour of the Jewish neighbourhood of KAZIMIERZ, essential places to learn about the development of the Jewish community, its consequences, and the Nazi barbarities suffered. Meet the oldest synagogue in Poland, scroll through its cozy and tiny streets, in which the bouncing and flourishing Jewish life prevailed before Nazism, and get informed about who were Ludwick Zamenhof, Maximilian Faktorowicz and many other Jewish personalities.

It is an amazing and indispensable visit to the most transcendental home of the Jewish community which lasts 2.5 hours, and that you will discover from the hand of our expert guide, who will be more than pleased to answer any of your questions so that you enjoy and take maximum advantage of this unique place.

Actually I would like it to be clear that we are supposed to make a small donation to the tourguide, it would be good to know how big donation is recommended.

We are very satisfied with the tour. It was full of details and curiosities. The guide was clearly passionate of the history of Krakow. Along with sight seeing he told us in very interesting way about the history of Jews in Krakow from the time the city was born till nowadays. He even facilitated the story with the list of books that he recommend to read for better understanding of the reality of Poland in the past. We are looking forward to come back to Krakow and take another tour with freetour.tours
