Alhambra and Generalife Tour

A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, the Alhambra and the Generalife are the most important historical complex in Spain. With 2.5 million visitors a year, it is currently the most visited monument in Spain. Ancient residence of the Nasrid kings from where they ruled around the meadow of the Darro river; the rest of the city. The Alhambra complex, which means red fortress in Arabic, was also the object of desire by the Christian Monarchs. Emperor Charles had a clearly Renaissance palace built in it; where he spent his wedding night with his wife; Mary of Portugal. As a consequence, nine months later; the future king Philip would be born.
